Spherical Lathe Device (ball turning device)

The spherical rotary device is a precise and solid high quality turning device and comes in two variants. This method of turning balls is tested several times and has proved successful for small series!

Description

• Model 1 for lathes up to 190 mm peak height
• Model 2 for lathes up to 350 mm peak height (on a scale of 4:5 larger as version 1)
• Made of "ST 52" steel, welded
• Hinge in plain-fit bush bearung with grease fitting.
• High-quality tilt / lock lever in gray cast iron.
• Small tool holder (pivot) with diamond-shaped insert.
• Base with bolted, adjustable guide plate, width 32mm
• Back plate to secure the lathe bed bottom.

• The offer includes: base plate with welded studs (swivel), guide plate, backing plate, articulated arm with lock (tilt clamp lever), a horizontal boom with brakes (toggle clamping lever), vertical arm with knob and rotary steel Shot, Steel holder with diamond-shaped insert (aluminum).

This way you can lathe round spheres in exactly 2 steps. Just center the device on your lathe. This is done by testing and readjusting. Once set up, the ball turning is very easy and a real eye-catcher at every show demonstration.

Usage

Now the spherical turning device is used.

• Swing the boom from the middle of the prepared cylinder against the center to the left and to the right, turning a 3 / 4 ball.
• Then unlock your 3/4 ball and cut the two ends (+ an allowance for finish turning the missing ball radius)
• Then clamp the 3/4 ball with the two spherical surfaces between previously prepared half-shells made of wood.
• Use the turning device now once again and lathe the missing radius.
